Description

Global Resistance is a free-to-play online strategy game set in the Resistance universe. Players enlist as a Chimera or Human commander and collaborate with their fellow commanders to take control of territories and win a weekly fight for global domination. Global Resistance featured base building, asynchronous PvP, PvE missions, and superweapons dynamically updated in realtime via a gorgeous 2D map of the world. Global Resistance was created as a companion game for Resistance 3 to help promote the console game release and increase long-term fan engagement.

After conceptualizing Global Resistance with Creative Director Marcus Smith, I built a fully functional paper prototype and used it to refine the game over the course of three months before greenlight

Global Resistance featured an innovative unlock system connected to the console game : players unlocked exclusive Resistance 3 content (skins, titles, XP boosters) by playing Global Resistance and similarly they unlocked Global Resistance content (bombs, resources, achievements) by playing Resistance 3.

The game was hugely successful with players, won marketing awards, and was nominated for a BAFTA

We created a unique asynchronous PvP system that showcased some incredible stylized flash animations
